Johnny's Junior

Formed: 2005
A new generation of band after fiVe. If fiVe are not available for senpai's concerts, they will use Question?. They're a pretty good band, though not nearly as good as fiVe yet. Most probably to debut compared to fiVe, because the members are still young and considerably more popular, though arguably not as talented.

Question? (also seen question?) is a group composed of 5 members of Johnny's Jr's, although it started off with a different 5th member (Noda Yuya) who was transferred to M.A.D and replaced with Igoo Akun. Question? is often on the show The Shounen Club and generally act as the band, although they have performed many times and have a number of original songs. The group appears often in Kanjani8's concerts, and in addition, some of the group's members also appear in concerts of other debuted Johnny's Entertainment groups, such as Ishigaki Daisuke (who is also part of the group fiVe) playing piano in KAT-TUN concerts.

Entertainment career

* He used to be in a variety show for kids, then was offered to enter Johnny’s Jimusho (Johnny's Entertainment) at the age of twelve, and started to participate under Johnny's Jr.

* Soon he was grouped with some members of the current J-pop unit, Arashi. Together, they formed a group called M.A.I.N. (which stands for each member’s family name: Matsumoto, Aiba, Ikuta, and Ninomiya).

* After M.A.I.N., Toma was grouped again with a Jr. unit named B.I.G. (Bad Image Generation) along with ten other popular Juniors of that time. This is the time when he met Tomohisa Yama$hita (NEWS), or YamaPi, with whom he is still very good friends. Soon, B.I.G. was reduced to just Toma and YamaPi.

* In 2002, upon Tackey & Tsubasa’s graduation from Johnny's Jr., the group 4Tops was formed in order to replace them as leaders. The group consisted of 4 members: Ikuta, YamaPi, Jun Hasegawa and Shunsuke Kazama. Their job was to host Shounen Club and to lead the Johnny's Jr.

* April 2003, NEWS was formed with YamaPi as the leader. This group debuted along with 9 members from Johnny’s Jr. so 4Tops became 3Tops, and not so long after that, they disbanded, and each member started working solo.

* As of June 2006, he became part of an unofficial group within Johnny's Entertainment called "No Border", which also includes YamaPi, Jun Matsumoto, Shingo Murakami (Kanjani8), Atsuhiro Satou (former Hikaru Genji), Koichi Domoto (Kinki Kids), Tatsuya Yamaguchi (TOKIO), and Hideaki Takizawa (Tackey & Tsubasa). It was formed when the 8 members from different JE groups met up for dinner and decided to name themselves "NO BORDER". They are known to interact freely, bypassing the senpai-kouhai relationships normally formed by Johnny's members. There is a 7-part round-robin on their J-webs about the formation of the group. Each member has a specific colour - White, Black, Red, Pink, Purple, Gold, Blue, and Grey. However, who holds which colour is still unknown.

* Ikuta has already participated in numerous performances of Musical Stage Plays. One of his biggest breakthrough was his first leading role in the Shinkansen*NEXUS stageplay "Cat in the Red Boots", as TOMA-sama. Furthermore, in October 2007, he's casted in a new stage play titled, "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" which will be held in Osaka and Tokyo.

* Ikuta had his own temporary J-web named Tomagoto (Toma’s words) where he could write his thoughts and experiences, but because it was temporary, it eventually came to an end. However, after a number of fan requests, they continued the series again and it was named “Tomagoto Returns” but read as “Tomagoto Hyper”. Being temporary, it ended last February 28, 2007. He also has a J-web collaboration with Musical Academy called KinToMA (Kindan no Tomagoto) and last June 7, 2007 they decided to continue Tomagoto, under the name "Tomagoto NEO".

* Ikuta also has his own corner on Wink Up Magazine titled “Ikuta Toma no Ikita Kotoba”. On this corner he used to talk about “heart touching” things, and he often writes about his mom. He still lives with his parents.

4. His ideal dream date is to drive at night to a hill top with his girlfriend and watch a city view from there. He and Yama#a Tomohisa attempted this together on one occasion, only to find they were the only non-couple there. They proceeded to shine flashlights at the other cars with couples in them, and both concluded that it wasn't too much fun to do with a friend.

12. He guested twice in Maki Horikita's occasional radio variety show in July. He told her that mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness overcame him during the two sessions because it's his first time having an in-depth and happy one-on-one conversation with a girl. The leader at the time was Yuki Kohara, who was really popular back then. When Kohara quit JE in 2001, Musical Academy remained with 4 members and Shingo Machida assumed leadership, though technically, Jun Akiyama is the oldest member. Though MA fans have hopes that MA will get to debut after 8 years together, many think that the group will never debut. Originally Ya-Ya-yah was formed with seven members and the first initials of their surnames were used for the group name (Yabu, Akama, Yama$hita, Ayukawa, Yoshida, Andou, Hoshino) however as the group evolved and members were added and removed, the name stayed the same. Andou Yasuhiro and Yoshida Yuuki were the first to leave the group for unknown reasons before the release of their first single. Soon, Yaotome Hikaru began appearing with the group though he was not officially added as a member until after Akama Naoya and Hoshino Masaki left.
Ya-Ya-yah has released two singles. One was recorded under the name YA-YA but only featured four members (Yabu, Akama, Yama$hita, Ayukawa). It was released in 2002. The other, also released in 2002, with five members, was Yuuki 100% / Sekai ga Hitotsu ni Naru Made. The song Yuuki 100%, which was originally sung by Hikaru Genji, was used as the opening theme song of the children's Anime, Nintama Rantarou and the other song, Sekai ga Hitotsu ni Naru Made, was the ending theme song.

Ya-Ya-yah has their own variety show that airs every Sunday on TV Tokyo. This show used to also often feature K.K.K. from the group K.K.Kity but when the group was split up with the formation of NEWS, the members' participation lessened. The show generally involves musical acts from the Jimusho as well as games and other features.

On September 24th, 2007, it was announced that Yabu Kota and Yaotome Hikaru would be joining the new group Hey!Say! JUMP. It is as of now unknown as to whether Ya-Ya-yah's activities will be continued. Soon after, J-Storm updated their website with the news that Ya-Ya-yah's long running TV program will be ending October 27 and replaced with one featuring Hey! Say! JUMP.

In August 2005, two Johnny's Jr. units, Kis-My-Ft and ABC Jr, combined to form Kis-My-Ft2. The name comes from the first letter from each of their last names; Kitayama Hiromitsu, Iida Kyohei, Senga Kento, Miyata Toshiya, Yokoo Wataru, Fujigaya Taisuke, Tamamori Yuta and Nikaido Takashi ("ni" in Kanji is the number 2). They performed as a 8 member group until end of March 2006 when Iida Kyohei left Johnny's due to his studies, leaving Kis-My-Ft2 without its "I".

The unique feature about the group is that all its members do tricks and acrobatic moves with rollerskates. The unit is modelled after one of Johnny's Entertainment older groups Hikaru Genji and are known to perform their songs such as Sayonara no Jounetsu, Areno no Megapolis, Paradise Ginga, StarLight, Kaze no Naka no Shounen, Winning Run, and Garasu no Juudai.
